About the Accredited Training Program
Accredited by the Institution of Fire Engineers Canada Branch to meet the training requirements of Section 2.8 of the Ontario Fire Code.
This 3.5 Hour Certificate program was developed and is delivered by a team of recognized NFPA Fire & Life Safety Public Educators, with extensive experience in technical program delivery & education.
The program involves in-person and or virtual learning opportunities.
Will prepare Building Owners, Managers, and building Supervisory Staff with the tools and resources to effectively implement & manage their fire safety program at their building, complete with an array of course materials as takeaways.
Participants must achieve 75 percent in order to obtain the certification. Upon successful completion, a certificate with an IFE Canada seal will be issued.
The Ontario Fire Code requires all persons having roles and responsibilities within the building’s fire safety plan, to be trained - prior to being given any responsibilities at the building.
The building Owner, is required to fully implement the building’s fire safety plan, and ensure those assigned roles and responsbilities are trained on those roles and responsibilities.
It’s more than a fire code requirement - Lives depend on it.

Program Requirements
Participants must achieve a minimum passing grade of 75 percent on the certification final exam.
Participants must attend with a maintained and current copy of their building’s fire safety plan, approved by the local fire services within the last 5 years.
