Accredited by the Institution of Fire Engineers Canada Branch to meet the requirements of Section 2.8 of the Ontario Fire Code.
This Five (5) Hour Certificate program was developed and is delivered by a team of NFPA Fire & Life Safety Public Educators.
The program involves in person learning opportunities. and will prepare participants to effectively implement & manage their fire safety and code compliance program in their workplace.
Live Fire Training on Fire Extinguisher use and safety, coupled with experiencing smoke movement - right inside the smoke training tower, reveiwing “Defend In Place Procedures. Real Learning Experience !
Participants must achieve 75 percent on the final exam in order to obtain the certification.
Do Facility Management teams and your Supervisory Staff require training as per the Ontario Fire Code?
Yes ! The Ontario Fire Code requires all persons having roles and responsibilities within that fire safety plan, to be trained on those roles and responsibilities prior - to being given any responsibilities under that fire safety plan. The Facility Manager, is typically responsible for implementing that fire safety plan, on behalf of the employer in control of the facility.
Documentation of this training must be maintained at the building at all times as per the Ontario Fire Code.
Program Topics
This interactive and engaging Five (5) hour training program provides the training required for you to fully implement a workplace fire safety program in Ontario, and effectively manage the program on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis. This training meets the requirements under Section 2.8 of the Ontario Fire Code.

Program Requirements
Participants must achieve a minimum passing grade of 75 percent on the certification final exam.
Participants must attend with a current copy of their building’s fire safety plan, approved by the local fire services within the last 5 years.
Program Execution – In-Person Training
Participant registration is required. Group or individual programs available.
Breakfast, coffee and refreshments provided.
The accredited certificate training program will be delivered by a recognized NFPA 1035 Fire & Life Safety Educators, and expert training facilitators.
Live Fire Training program and smoke tower simulation.
Successful participants, those achieving the required 75 percent on the certification exam, are awarded a detailed certificate outlining their achievement, bearing the program details, and Institution of Fire Engineers Canada Branch endorsement details.
Program is recognized by the Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario (CRMAO) for Professional Development Credits.
