The Ontario Fire Code and the Occupational Health & Safety Act requires an active Fire Safety Program in your workplace. A major component of that program is that all persons having roles and responsibilities for fire safety, clearly understand those vital roles and responsibilities - “prior” to being given any responsibilities.

The “Chief Fire Warden Program”

Every workplace is to provide sufficient numbers of, and trained staff on the fire safety program for that workplace. This is a requirement of the Ontario Fire Code.

These “Supervisory Staff” members typically report to the Chief Fire Warden. This accredited training program will allow participants to develop the tools and foundation to successfully manage and implement your Fire Warden and workplace fire safety programs.

Training and development are vital components for fire code compliance. In fact, employers are required to train these staff members, before giving them any responsibilities. Proof of this training must be maintained at the building if requested by either Insurance Companies, the landlord, or the fire services.

This exciting certificate program is a ‘stamp of approval’ that a person responsible for fire safety in a building or workplace in Ontario can be used to show that the person has achieved a particular standard of excellence in their field of work.
